Gabriela Dominguez 2019

“..I travel into nature to slow down and pay attention—but also because it is difficult. The effort, the distance, the uncertainty, and the discomfort are part of the experience. Away from schedules and noise, and often far from easy access, the subjects I photograph become more than things—they become moments of clarity earned through persistence, solitude, and restraint. Each image in this gallery comes from time spent moving through remote terrain, watching light change, and allowing the environment to set the pace rather than the other way around.
Photography, for me, is not about conquering a destination or capturing something rare. It is about showing up repeatedly, working through the hard parts, and staying present long enough for something honest to reveal itself. These images reflect a quiet dialog between myself and the natural world—shaped by weather, patience, physical effort, and acceptance of what is given rather than what is planned. If something here feels calm, expansive, or grounding, it exists because the path to it was not easy..”
